What does the job entail?

  • On the administrative side, they manage patient check-ins, schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and handle billing and insurance tasks.听
  • Clinically, they take patient histories and vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians during procedures, collect lab specimens, and may administer medications or perform basic lab tests depending on state regulations.听
  • Most Medical Assistants work full-time in physicians’ offices, clinics, and outpatient facilities during regular business hours, providing essential patient-facing support that ensures quality healthcare delivery at physician offices, outpatient centers, hospitals, and urgent care.

This fast-track, hybrid program combines 90 hours of online classroom instruction, in-person lab instruction, and an 80-hour clinical externship at local medical offices, preparing you for both administrative and clinical responsibilities in physician offices.
